I hate to admit it, but I may have a new favorite phone. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the latest iteration of the company's mini-folder and this generation, the company has solved many of our problems with the previous model. It offers longer battery life, increased durability, and more useful external displays. At the same $1,000 starting price as before, the Z Flip 4 costs about the same as the iPhone 13 Pro and the Galaxy S22 +, but it can fold into a pocket you can hide in the palm of your hand. It's a really fun phone to use, thanks to the different modes you can set it to. The Z Flip 4 isn't perfect, but by improving its battery life, Samsung has finally created a smartphone that can handle the goods. Arrangement
One of the best things about Flips is that you can fold them in half and easily store them in pockets, purses or other tight spaces. As someone with an endless desk, I struggle to find a place to put the large Pixel 6 Pro, which, if not carefully placed on a flat surface, will kill itself. on the table and fell to his death.
Advantages
- It bends in two!
- Improved battery life
- Useful hands-free apps
The inconvenients
- Low-light photos could be better
- Ongoing concerns about long-term sustainability
Thanks to its new matte finish, the Flip 4 isn't as slippery as its predecessor or the Pixel, so I was less worried about putting it on keys or packets of snacks, for example. I've only dropped it once since I got it, and so far the case has survived without a scratch. And because the Flip is so small, I also have an easy time finding a place to put it. At times when I'm wearing something with a pocket, the Flip 4 still fits easily, if not comfortably. It still feels better than the iPhone 12 and Pixel 6 Pro I use all the time, however, which comes off the top and feels like I'm leaning forward like I'm breaking phone.
I was also less careful in my review of the Flip 4 than I have been with previous flips, throwing it into a bag full of keys and other heavy phones. I panicked for a second when I realized what I had done because I still wanted a phone that was good for photography, but phew, the Gorilla Glass Victus + coating on the inside and outside of the Flip made it scratch resistant.
Most of the other changes made by the company this year are not affected. A smaller ring, a brighter edge and less lines make the new model cleaner, and the external camera stands out a little more than before, but beyond those small differences it is difficult to distinguish the Flip 3 and 4.
The easiest way for me to identify the Flip 4 is by its color. My swatch is in the shade "Bora Purple" by Samsung, which is a pretty lavender shade, but I prefer the blue version. When opened, the two Flips are hard to tell apart - the newest version is just a hair short. Their two-finger grips seem stiff, but I was able, with careful maneuvering, to open and close the Flip with one hand. I've made a dent in my home screen so my finger goes into the panel for leverage when closing the device, and so far I haven't seen the screen break. The Flip 4 still has a crease on its screen, but this time it seems shallower. It might just be because it's new and over time, it might become more obvious. But those hoping for a slight crease may be disappointed - it's still there and very noticeable.
If you're a fan of emotional experiences like me, you might like to know that massage while scrolling through a long article or Reddit content is still satisfying. Running your fingers up and down this depression is like trying to massage your back (except you don't want to use that pressure). It won't stop you from using the Flip, but if you like muscle, it will make the experience fun. It's hard to compare the other mobile phone, because it is the only viable of it in America. However, it must be detected in 187 grams (or 6.59 ounces), Scroll 4 Scroll 4 Scrolls more of the phone $ 1,000 like S22 Plus on iPhone 13 Pro. It is only 13 grams lighter than the iPhone 13.
Display and audio
The Flip 4 is also difficult to customize due to its unique display. Although it measures 6.7 inches diagonally, its 22:9 aspect ratio makes it taller and narrower than most phones. I don't mind - in fact, it's easier for me to reach for the Flip's screen to press the button on the other side than on my iPhone or Pixel.
As with any Samsung cell phone, the Flip 4's 1080p panel produced beautiful colors and detailed detail, and I found the 120Hz refresh rate great for scrolling through my favorite subreddits. However, there is a bit of a problem with the viewing angle when you bend the phone slightly. If you look at it directly, everything is fine.
And sometimes, in one corner, I see color around the park. That's fine, since I don't look at the screen that way and it doesn't affect visibility.
I also spent a little time reading on the 1.9-inch touchscreen, but when I used it to reply to messages or set an alarm, it was easy to read. I love the beautiful watch face that Samsung offers, which makes the Flip 4 even more attractive.
Using the cover screen to listen to music from Spotify is great, and by default tapping on this widget will bring up the last song you heard. Overall, the Flip 4 speakers are loud enough to provide background sound while I work, although I wish there was stronger bass for songs like Tyga's Taste and Taeyeon's INVU . Music also has a slightly different sound when the Flip is open compared to when it's closed, and the sound of the drum is a little less in the latter position. Used when folded: Flex position on camera
The Flip 4 is just as powerful as a regular phone, but when it's closed or folded, it's truly unique. In those cases, it's basically either a camera with a built-in kickstand (perfect for self-conscious people like myself) or as a non-destructive device. disable the pager. I like to use the Flip 4 to record an embarrassing number of yoga class videos or jot down my outfit for the week. I tried some of the popular dance moves that teenagers seem to be doing a lot on TikTok. (However I will not share these videos.)
There are two ways to turn out 4 turns when it's down: with an external camera and the lads as a period of time that happens in the half of the screen.
When I try to use the outside camera to attract herself, I find it hard to find my favor I can not make changes. Even with the phone fully closed, using the cover screen as a viewfinder isn't worth it - I still ended up with awkward, unflattering angles. The internal camera is more reliable, but it lacks a wide-angle lens and generally produces less vibrant shots.
